About Me

Emily Grady, LPCC-S

For over a decade, I’ve worked across the mental health continuum: from community mental health to higher education, and from start-up to private practice environments, I’m grateful to have had a range of experience. Through this, I’ve developed a tremendous appreciation for the therapeutic relationship, and have immense gratitude for being entrusted with your stories.

My work is guided by person-centered and feminist therapy theories, and incorporates elements of mindfulness practices. I utilize a strengths-based approach in which we focus on how your individual strengths and natural skills can empower you to meet your own therapeutic goals. My work is also deeply rooted in the belief that we are a part of a greater community; while our focus will be on on you and your personal needs, I will support you in considering the ways you can connect with the different systems and people around you, too.

I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach for therapy, and that the relationship between a therapist and a client is dynamic and collaborative. My personal goal is to meet you where you are, and to work together to find unique therapeutic solutions that work for you.

I have a B.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies from Kenyon College, and a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University.

Outside of the therapy office, you can find me sewing (I’m a novice quilter!), in the garden, or curled up reading next to my sleepy retired racing greyhound, Moose.
